Challenge #560 - Give Us Your Background!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope this finds you all well and raring to join in our challenge this week.  We would like for you to GIVE US YOUR BACKGROUND.  I'm not talking genealogy here, I'm talking alcohol inks, distress oxide ink, paper piecing, smooshing stenciling, gelli pad, collage...there are so many ways to make your own background paper for your creation.

Here's mine -

The background was one that was in my stash.  I think the pink/red is probably distress oxide ink smooshed on to water color paper.  It drives me crazy after you foil something and have all that lovely color left, so I added some transfer gel and some gold leftover foil and this is what I got.

A little bit more background here (not the kind we are asking for in the challenge)...I want to dedicate this card to the Girlfriends, who are absolutely blessings.  I had a bunch of stuff going on last week and they were right there to give moral support and offer help.  They are the BEST!

We would love for you to join us this week.  I'm am looking forward to seeing all the different ways you create your backgrounds.  For more ideas, give the Girlfriends a visit and leave them a little love.

Challenge # 559 - Spots or Stripes!

Happy Wednesday, all! This week the challenge is "Spots and/or Stripes" which means that we would like to see projects that have either polka dots, spots, tittles, lines, plaids stripes....any or all of the above! And remember, we're not just about cards....you could make a bookmark, layout, altered item, tag - any papercraft goes!

This is what I did.....

As you can see, I've got liney patterned paper and a pretty floral wreath with a plethora of dots around it.

If you want more inspiration be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made. Then head on back here and link up your project.

Can't wait to see what you create!

Challenge # 558 - Fantasy

It's hard to believe that we're half way through the month of July already.
But here we are and it's my turn to host the challenge this week.
I chose the theme "FANTASY"
so bring on your Dragons, Fairies, Mermaids, Gnomes ...
or in my case...Unicorns!
But most of all, have some FUN!

It's hard to see in the photo, but all the images are loaded with glitter...
because glitter is magical!
I used the stamp set from Mama Elephant.

Challenge #556 - Summertime Fun

Happy Canada Day!! We hope that all our Canadian friends are keeping well and have an amazing day today! And happy Fourth of July in a few days to our American friends! And happy week to everybody, wherever you are!

I'm happy to be hosting this week and I've chosen the theme Summertime Fun. I'd like to see projects that celebrate summer in any way, shape or form! From glasses of lemonade to lazy days at the beach, how do you have fun in the summer?

I had fun creating my card although did procrastinate a bit as I was having too much fun enjoying the great outdoors this week. We've had some lovely weather! As I love water and the beach, I decided to create a little beach scene. There's nothing like relaxing in a lounger with a good book next to the sea!

Please join our challenge by creating a project and linking below. We can't wait to see what you make!
