Challenge #7 - Sewing

Well it is Wednesday and time for another Challenge on Little Red Wagon. I have to say that I have totally been enjoying completing these challenges on a weekly basis... it has been so inspirational to play with items I have had for a while and never even touched!

I specifically keep this in mind when creating a project for this blog and this week was no exception! I have owned these In Stitch Templates from Bazzill titled "Bring me Flowers" and have not used them on anything yet, hence why I chose Sewing as the challenge for this week! I used the Leaf template from this on felt to create the leaf for the flower. Here is my project for the week!

I used my spellbinder Nested Flowers and cut two sizes out of two different pieces of fabric and a small circle out of felt and hand sewed them together using a needle and some Floss. I created the stem of the flower by cutting a strip of fabric and folding it over and then sewing it with my sewing machine to the card and scrunching it as I sewed it to the card. I also used my PTI Backround Polka Dots I and II to create the patterned paper look...

Now don't be disappointed if you don't own a sewing machine... you can still play along by doing some hand sewing or even faux stitching by using a stitching stamp! I can not wait to see what all of you come up with for this weeks Challenge! Thanks for playing along with us! ~Avril

Challenge #6 - Inspiration from a photo

It is Wednesday again, and that means another great challenge here at the Little Red Wagon. Christmas is just around the corner and I have been having so much fun making cards, ornaments and gifts for the holidays. I couldn't pass up the opportunity for one more Christmas creation!

My challenge is for you to get your inspiration from this photograph. It could be the colours, the images, the details.....whatever inspires you.

I just loved the colours and the ornaments so I decided to include both on my card.

I used my Copic markers to colour these ornament stamps from Bo-Bunny. I added glitter and Glossy Accents as well as bling and ribbon. I pulled the flourishes in by using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and finished it off with a Kaisercraft rub-on.

Play along and have fun with the challenge. Be sure to check out our design team creations by visiting their blogs. Leave a comment with a link to your creation. Can't wait to see what you do!

Challenge #5 - Heavy Metal!

It's time for another challenge and those of you who know me may be wondering how it is that the ‘princess’ of the group would choose heavy metal for this week’s challenge at Little Red Wagon. My only answer to that would be Tim Holtz! Yes, some recently purchased metal embellishments by Tim Holtz totally inspired me for this week’s challenge! And now I challenge you to use metal on a card or altered item.

This is my card which includes a metal word charm, mini safety pin, metal clip and some brads. I also used some Cosmo Cricket paper scraps I had, a Stamping Bella stamp, Copic markers, a Jenni Bowlin journal card and ribbon from my stash.

OK girlfriends, start digging into your wagon - I know you will create something amazing!

Hugs,
Joanne xo

Challenge #3- Distress It Up

Many of you who know me, know how much I love to use my Ranger Blending Tool and Distress Ink. There isn't too much that I create, that I don't distress with ink or use my edge distresser to tear up my paper edges.

My challenge to you, is to use your blending tool and ink your edges or a background, and to ink/distress your chosen papers and other elements using your favorite colour of distress ink (mine is vintage photo). If you happen to incorporate any chipboard elements, then distress them up too!! Don't be afraid to use that edge distresser on your paper edges!

Here is my take on my challenge :)

I also used my blending tool on this Tattered Angel Chipboard Butterfly and then applied my clear Glaze pen.

Have fun with the challenge!

Challenge #2 - Use Your Scraps

Welcome to the second challenge at Little Red Wagon!

If you've happened to visit my personal blog at all then you know I usually use scraps to create my cards.

This week, in addition to a card, I decorated a gift bag and created a tag all from last year's Christmas paper scraps.

So my challenge to you is to create an item, card, layout, etc. using last year's Christmas paper scraps. Or if you don't have any Christmas scraps, create an item using any scraps you have.

I hope my projects inspire you and hope that you will play along. Please link up your creations in the comments section, we'd love to see them!

And for more inspiration, check out the team creations also linked in the comments section.
