Challenge #514 - In Memorium

I think most of us in the US, and perhaps elsewhere, will forever remember September 11, 2001.  Because I still feel so affected by that day, I felt it appropriate to challenge you to do "In Memorium" creations.  By this I mean creations made for those who have lost loved ones (sympathy cards/creations) or even a creation in memory of someone special in your life.  Please remember, it doesn't have to be a card to enter.

Here's what happened for me -

The Girlfriends will have inspiration for you, so please give their blogs a visit.  I would love for you to join us this week in sharing your "In Memorium" creations.

Challenge # 513 - Nice & Clean!

Happy Wednesday, all!  I hope everyone is enjoying the first bit of September.  This week the challenge is "Nice & Clean" which just means that we'd like to see clean cards...so think clean lines, minimal embellishments, not a lot of bulk, nothing too busy, not too technique heavy, no fancy folds etc.  Another way to describe it would be CAS but without the simple part.  No "white" space needed.  (That said, CAS projects would certainly fit the challenge too!)  I hope that makes sense to everyone! And remember, we're not just about cards....you could make a bookmark, layout, pocket page, altered item, tag - any papercraft goes!

This is what I did....

As you can see, I've got clean lines, no embellishments, not too many layers and an fairly simply (but definitely adorable) panda enjoying his flower.  Nothing complicated here.

If you want more inspiration be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.  Then head on back here and link up your digi project.

Can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Wednesday, all!  This week we're all about food!  We want to see your projects that have any kind of food on them, if you can eat it, it's in!  And remember, we're not just about cards....you could make a bookmark, layout, pocket page, altered item, tag - any papercraft goes!

This is what I did.....

Challenge #510 - I'd like to teach the world to sing

I'm so excited to be this week's hostess at Little Red Wagon. I've chosen the theme "I'd like to teach the world to sing" which means that I'd like you to use music or songs to inspire you as you create.

I used Whitesnake's Here I Go Again as inspiration for my card. The first verse sings:

I don't know where I'm going
But I sure know where I've been
Hanging on the promises in songs of yesterday
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time

It's difficult to read the gold-embossed sentiment. It says, "The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."

Here's the song for you! Gotta love that hair!!

Now it's your turn! Turn on the radio or YouTube or get out your old vinyls and let a song inspire you to create! When you're finished, you can link up your project below. I can't wait to see what you create and read how you've been inspired by a particular piece of music.

Little Red Wagon #509 - Happy Book Lovers Day

I'm probably the first one to wish you a Happy Book Lovers Day (which is officially August 9th).  I felt it fitting to fashion our challenge this week around another rather obscure holiday.  This week I would like for you to share a creation that has been inspired by a favorite book or (addendum as I should have read what my challenge was and not just assumed I knew what I was talking about) it should have a focus on words.  Here's my little raccoon card which was inspired by the book Rascal, written by Sterling North and does have the word Thankful on it -

You don't have to remember any details about the book, you don't even have to have read it.   I think I read this one in 6th or 7th grade and simply remember I really liked it.  I would love to hear what book inspired your creation.

It goes without saying, we would love to have you join us this week.  Hopefully the topic is pretty wide open and we will see old friends and new alike joining us.  The Girlfriend's will be sharing their wonderful creations, except maybe Doni, she may well be reading a book instead.  We do continue to pray for her speedy recovery.  Hope to see your creations!

Big appologies to the Girlfriends!!!

Hi!
It´s Wednesday and time for a brand new Challenge here at Little Red Wagon
My name is Doni and I'm your hostess this week.
The theme I chose "Dog Days of Summer"....so pretty much as long as there is a dog
somewhere on your project, I'll be happy!
Here's my cute little doggie, basking in the sweet summer sunlight:
I used:
Penny Black - doggone cute
The Alley Way Stamps - All about you

Hope you can find time to play along with us this week.

'till next time,
Doni

Hello all, I'm interrupting Doni's scheduled post here to let you know that she had a fall and dislocated her right shoulder and fractured it in two places.  So she's going to be unable to craft for awhile.  I know you'll all join me in wishing Doni a speedy recovery and to let her know we will miss her crafty makes while she recovers.

Challenge #505 - It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Merry Very Early Christmas! Although it's hot and sunny here in Central Ontario, there are some places in the world who are having their winter. This week, we're singing "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" and are looking for Christmas-themed projects. I always like these challenges as it gives me a head start on my Christmas cards. It's always nice to go into busy season with some things already crossed of my to-do list!

I used some stamps from a Stampin' Up set that I purchased a number of years ago and don't think I ever used! I heat embossed the tree and then added some red gemstones.

Please link up your projects below! I can't wait to be inspired by your Christmas creations!

Challenge #504 - Repeat Day

I have another random holiday for you to celebrate over at the Little Red Wagon.  Today is Repeat Day, so I thought it would be fun to do cards that repeat something.  I have several repeats on my card today.  You could cut several layers to frame your image, use more than one patterned paper, repeat a color as in the purple tag, hearts and balloons.  The cute kitty even has more that one balloon -

This challenge will work well with your projects other than cards! If it's inspiration you are in need of, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the Girlfriends have created. Then, head back here and link up.

Challenge # 503 - Much Ado About Nothing!

Happy Wednesday, all! This week we're all about....well, nothing! That just means that we want to see projects that aren't about any specific event, occasion or holiday. So no birthday or Christmas projects, shower cards or makes celebrating weddings, anniversaries or graduations etc. No thank yous or sympathy cards. So think things like, "Hello" creations, "Thinking of You", cute scenes, cards without sentiments (as long as they don't have an obvious birthday, holiday etc. image) etc. etc. etc. As long as it's a project that could be given for any reason at all, or a scrapbook/pocket page that doesn't showcase a specific event, it's all good. And remember, there's more than just cards and pages you can enter....you could make a bookmark, altered item, tag - any papercraft goes!

This is what I did.....

As you can see, you could use this card for pretty much any occasion.  And that's what this challenge as all about!

If you'd like more inspiration be sure to check out the wonderful projects the Girlfriends have created. Then, head back here and link up.

Can't wait to see what you create!
