Challenge 512 - Foodie!

Happy Wednesday, all!  This week we're all about food!  We want to see your projects that have any kind of food on them, if you can eat it, it's in!  And remember, we're not just about cards....you could make a bookmark, layout, pocket page, altered item, tag - any papercraft goes!

This is what I did.....

That birthday cake sure qualifies as something to eat, especially with all that icing.  Yummy!

If you'd like more inspiration be sure to check out the wonderful projects the Girlfriends have created. Then, head back here and link up.

Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much to all of you who joined our "I'd like to teach the world to sing" challenge. I was reminded of a number of forgotten songs - and appreciated some very familiar ones too!

Challenge #510 - I'd like to teach the world to sing

I'm so excited to be this week's hostess at Little Red Wagon. I've chosen the theme "I'd like to teach the world to sing" which means that I'd like you to use music or songs to inspire you as you create.

I used Whitesnake's Here I Go Again as inspiration for my card. The first verse sings:

I don't know where I'm going
But I sure know where I've been
Hanging on the promises in songs of yesterday
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time

It's difficult to read the gold-embossed sentiment. It says, "The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."

Here's the song for you! Gotta love that hair!!

Now it's your turn! Turn on the radio or YouTube or get out your old vinyls and let a song inspire you to create! When you're finished, you can link up your project below. I can't wait to see what you create and read how you've been inspired by a particular piece of music.

Little Red Wagon #509 - Happy Book Lovers Day

I'm probably the first one to wish you a Happy Book Lovers Day (which is officially August 9th).  I felt it fitting to fashion our challenge this week around another rather obscure holiday.  This week I would like for you to share a creation that has been inspired by a favorite book or (addendum as I should have read what my challenge was and not just assumed I knew what I was talking about) it should have a focus on words.  Here's my little raccoon card which was inspired by the book Rascal, written by Sterling North and does have the word Thankful on it -

You don't have to remember any details about the book, you don't even have to have read it.   I think I read this one in 6th or 7th grade and simply remember I really liked it.  I would love to hear what book inspired your creation.

It goes without saying, we would love to have you join us this week.  Hopefully the topic is pretty wide open and we will see old friends and new alike joining us.  The Girlfriend's will be sharing their wonderful creations, except maybe Doni, she may well be reading a book instead.  We do continue to pray for her speedy recovery.  Hope to see your creations!

Big appologies to the Girlfriends!!!
